Student Struck While Walking Home From School

A 16-year-old student (all juvenile names are protected) is fortunate to be alive after running onto Harding Street on Thursday, January 22, at about 3:00 p.m. According to the CHP, the juvenile began running southbound across Harding Street just east of El Dorado when he was struck by a 2013 Buick driven by a 17-year-old.
The report indicates the pedestrian failed to heed traffic at the time of the collision.
The injuries are described as major but not life-threatening. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident. The pedestrian is recovering at Sutter Coast Hospital.
