Operation Boo! Big success

November 2nd, 2025 - Halloween night was a big day for the Crescent City Police Department, CDCR Pelican Bay Parole, and especially for the Crescent City–Del Norte community.

On Friday, October 31, a 25-member team from the CCPD and CDCR Parole conducted compliance checks around Crescent City for individuals required to register as sex offenders. One arrest and two warrants followed.

Warrants were issued for Seth Bauer, 41, and Jason Bighead, 45, who were not living at their registered addresses.

One of the offenders, Tony Maestas, 45, was arrested for violating the terms of his parole by being in possession of a cell phone and accessing the internet. Maestas was booked into the Del Norte County Jail.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
